A brief update for readers and submitters
Update, June 4th: Our publishing hiatus is extending to a second week. Additional comp weeks have been applied.
I’m writing to let you know about some temporary delays in our publication and response schedule.
First: There will be no issue this Saturday, May 31st. Everyone with paid-level access has been comped an extra week to make up for this.
Second: We have a significant backlog of submissions, and response times are running much longer than our estimate of two weeks. We’re working to improve our workflow and get our decisions out to you sooner. In addition, our submissions page will be updated within the next few days; as well as providing more realistic response time estimates, we’ll also be streamlining and clarifying the guidelines.
