HLS No. 59: The Old Fool
From Alice Yustas, a story about realizing your parents were right all along…
From time immemorial, the Sheridan men carried on their family legacy—even into the twentieth century, with its ferment of modern science and modern war.
This curious diary-within-a diary was shared with us by Prof. Peter Sheridan, reader in cultural anthropology at Warwick University. Discovered along with other family documents, the notebook contains pages from the original 1930s diary by Dr. Abraham Sheridan, with commentaries by his son, Joshua. We are very grateful to Professor Sheridan for sharing this document as a part of our project on microhistory, though we cannot make any statement as to the veracity of the events.
